Tyne has recently started to develop "general needs" housing. Beginning with our development the disused Beavans department store on Shields road in Byker. The conversion to 30 flats received an Inside Housing Sustainable Housing Award. Our next scheme of 42 flats near the Ouseburn farm in Byker which started on site in June. The association has found that the development of such provision enables better throughput into "ordinary" housing from our homelessness provision.
All of the Tyne group organisations have voluntary boards.
Tyne Housing Association is a Charitable Industrial and Provident Society No. 21011R and a Registered Social Landlord with the Housing Corporation. Reg No: LH4297.
