Byker Bridge Housing Association Head Office in St. Silas Church, overlooks Beavan’s. We intend to strengthen our commitment to the regeneration of the East End of Newcastle by working with the City to bring Beavan’s back to life. Byker Bridge will be applying for Planning Permission to create 30 Self-Contained Flats to the highest standards within the upper floors. This will allow for the ground floor to become a desirable retail unit once again, adding to the amenities of Shields Road. We will also improve the roofline, by removing the ugly lift housings and replacing them with single storey apartments set back from the parapet, barely visible from street level.
